For many of us, Christmas includes a season of parties and presents shared with new friends and old. It’s a time of celebration and joy filled with music and memories.
For many neighbors, Christmas will look and feel much like every other day. Dianna, will be sitting alone in a sparsely furnished apartment. After failing to make payments on her rental furniture, the movers are coming today to take her bed and sofa.
We are able to help because the body of Christ finds joy in serving the marginalized. We find our purpose when we position ourselves to enable acts of kindness to the world around us. Two amazing volunteers delivered a new bed and frame, sheets and comforter to Dianna this morning. Moved by her story, they boxed up a festive Christmas tree complete with ornaments to cheer up her home. We will continue to walk alongside Dianna into the new year as we offer practical help and a restored relationship with God. Though our partnership with St. Vincent DePaul, she will be able to shop for her own furniture at their thrift store.
Come, let us adore him by serving the world around us with acts of kindness and love. Please join together and contribute to our Christmas Quilt. We need your gift today to continue to serve warmth and comfort in the name of our Lord Jesus this Christmas!
May God bless you and the work of our hands!
