The minute I started talking to Dr. D., I knew I was about to hear what we call a “Love Story.” Love INC has been using volunteers from local churches to provide area residents with rides to dialysis treatment appointments for a couple of years, primarily through a partnership with Ela Township. The experience of Dr. D. and his driver Marsha is a perfect example of God using His Church, and His people to care for those in need.

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.” Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him. Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.
Did you hear something in that passage from Matthew that resonates with you as, impossible? I’ve been reading a devotional by Dietrich Bonhoeffer this past week. And several of the days’ readings focus on this passage. Bonhoeffer says that the phrase, “Judas, one of the twelve,” renders this entire idea, utterly impossible. One of the twelve could not have betrayed Jesus.
