The Board of Directors of Love INC Lake County Southwest is both saddened and joyful as we make this announcement. We are saddened that we are announcing that Joe Besenjak has decided to leave his position as Executive Director of Love INC Lake County Southwest. Joe will continue to serve with us through February 28th, 2015, after which he will pursue a new calling from God.
We are joyful that we can see God continuing to work through Joe and Love INC, even through this transition. As many of you know, as our first Executive Director, Joe was responsible for launching the Clearinghouse nearly 5 years ago. He has been instrumental in working with local churches and agencies in southwest Lake County to make a healthy difference in the lives of those in need.
During that time we have formed partnerships with more than 20 local churches, mobilized hundreds of volunteers and served thousands living in poverty in SW Lake County. Often the needs of our clients are so complex that no one church or agency can address them effectively. Love INC plays a critical role as a hub of resources, helping to mobilize and coordinate the resources of a wide variety of organizations, beginning with the local Church. We have seen many clients accept a hand-up (not a handout) from Love INC. We have successfully challenged clients to take on volunteer roles to serve others in need. God uses Love INC over and over to turn receivers into givers!
Kathy Houde, Board Chair said, “Joe has served Love INC tirelessly through both local churches, social service agencies and community organizations. As we move from the start-up phase to our next era of growth, we will be building on the foundations laid by Joe and his team and are excited to see where God is taking us. We hope this will include seeing Joe as one of our dedicated volunteers!”
A farewell reception will be held in late February to celebrate Joe and to wish him well. Details will be posted on this site soon. Board Member Roy Johnson will be forming a committee to begin the search for a new Executive Director.
