Farewell to a Servant and Friend

It is with such a sad heart that I share the news of the passing of Bob Cloud. He had been hospitalized recently for a severe allergic reaction of some sort. And we heard just a couple of hours ago that he had passed.

We will share details on the arrangements via another email and on our website when they are available.

Bob was the very first volunteer I recruited for Love INC Lake County Southwest in 2010. I say “I recruited.” However the truth is that Bob knew Love INC was coming and he contacted me. We met at Starbucks in Lake Zurich and it didn’t take long for me to know that Bob had the kind of compassionate heart we needed on our team.

Bob sat at the front desk in our clearinghouse most every Friday since we opened. He provided a loving, caring presence while performing assessments of countless people in need. And he found many other ways to serve our ministry as well.

Bob loved his family dearly, and he loved Jesus most deeply. We already miss him terribly. Please join us in giving thanks for all that Bob has meant to so many, and in prayer for Bob’s family.

In Christ,

Joe Besenjak
Executive Director

  1. I will truly miss Bob’s infectious smile and listening to his stories of family reunions, water aerobics, the funny things his sister said and how incredibly proud he was of his kids. Bob had a huge heart for the people we serve and especially the veterans. He loved God deeply and always tried to live out his life as he felt God was leading him. He was a beloved servant of God and I will miss him. My prayers go out to Bob and his family during this time.

  2. Bob did my intake when I came to Love INC as a client in 2011. When I got hired he was my greatest encourager. Even when Bob shared his struggles he went about them in a Godly way of confession and repentance trying to become more like Jesus. I will miss his jolly “Santa” like laugh the most.
