Kim Wasson

Kim was born and raised in the small southern Indiana town of Columbus. She attended Purdue Univeristy and graduated with a BS in Pharmacy in 1981. She met her husband, Greg, while attending Purdue Pharmacy School. They got married right after graduation and headed to Houston where both were employed by Walgreens. Over the next 17 years she held a variety of jobs with Walgreens in various states including: staff pharmacist, pharmacy manager, assistant manager, store manager, and worked to control district third party reconciliation.

In 1999 Kim and her family moved to Illinois and she decided to stay home with her 2 daughters. She returned to school in 2003 to earn her PharmD degree from Midwestern University and upon finishing her clinical rotations in 2006, she joined Advocate Health at Good Shepherd Hospital where she currently works as a pharmacist in an outpatient Anticoagulation clinic.

Kim and her family has attended Long Grove Community Church for about 10 years. She spent many years volunteering with the Youth Ministries Program while her 2 daughters were active in Youth Group. Currently she serves as the Compassion/Outreach Ministry Leader at Long Grove Church. When she is not working or volunteering she loves to spend her time riding horses.

In the summer she loves to water ski on the lake where she grew up in Columbus. Most of Kim’s extended family on both sides still live in Indiana so the family is able to spend many holidays and family reunion times together. This has been a special benefit to living in the Chicago area.
